The Trump White House this weekend released mock-ups of what next year’s planned Ultimate Fighting Championship bout on the South Lawn could look like.
The images immediately sparked fierce debate on social media.
But critics panned them as “tacky” and more.
The July 4, 2026, event will be part of America’s year-long celebrations for the country’s 250th birthday.
Trump, a frequent attendee at UFC fights, has claimed the event will be attended by up to 25,000 fans. His daughter and former adviser, Ivanka Trump, is reportedly involved in preparations.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) had the following response to the pictures in an X post: “Thank god they are focused on the priorities of all Americans.”
Others said it was something out of the cult film “Idiocracy.”
