Nintendo has released Fire Emblem Shadows, a new spin-off available on iOS and Android, starting September 25, 2025. Developed in partnership with Intelligent Systems and DeNA, this latest entry features real-time strategy mechanics and social deduction.
In each match, players control a group of three allies as they attempt to navigate a labyrinth. Hidden among them, however, is a disciple of shadow who secretly works to sabotage the mission. At the start of the game, participants choose whether to play as a disciple of light, trying to identify the traitor, or as a disciple of shadow, who must maintain their disguise.
After every encounter, players hold a vote to decide who they believe is the traitor. The outcome of this vote directly affects the conditions of the next battle. Whether the light can correctly expose the deceiver or the shadow can maintain its cover ultimately shapes the flow.
The app is free to start with optional in-game purchases and is being released in over 70 regions worldwide, including Japan and the United States.
It supports 10 languages, including Japanese and English. Nintendo describes the title as “real-time tactics and treachery.”
