Andy Reid bumps, yells at Travis Kelce during Chiefs-Giants game

Must read

Travis Kelce and Chiefs coach Andy Reid got into it during the team’s “Sunday Night Football” win over the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

After Harrison Butker missed a 40-yard field goal late in the second quarter, Reid was shown on the broadcast animatedly shouting at Kelce before bumping him on the Chiefs sideline.

Kelce shouted a few words back at Reid before the two parted ways.

The Chiefs were leading, 6-0, at the time.

“That’s OK,” Reid told NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark at halftime of the incident. “We need some juice.”

Kelce finished with four catches for 26 yards in the 22-9 win — the Chiefs’ first of the season.

Reid said after the game not to make anything out of the moment.

“I love Travis’ passion,” Reid said. “I’m OK with that. We didn’t have enough of it in that second quarter. It wasn’t where we needed it to be. He knows when to back off the pedal and he nows when to push it too. That’s the part I love about him.

“That guy’s all in. Just sometimes I have to be the policeman. He’s all in. He’s an emotional guy. He’s Irish.”

During last year’s Super Bowl, which the Chiefs lost to the Eagles, Kelce yelled at and bumped into Reid on the sideline.

Sunday was pretty much a reversal of that incident.
